Ethiopia Bitta Bonga SWP Decaf
In the Mankira forrest near the town of Bonga is where the oldest genetic material of coffea arabica exists. There, very old coffee trees covered in moss, grow wild, almost completely shaded by old growth trees. There is the fabled "Birthplace of Coffee"
Bitta farm is roughly 1000 hectares in size and planted in local indigenous types in a semi-forested area with some of the primary canopy still intact. The farm spans an altitude range of 1800 to 1950 meters above sea level.
The coffee was de-caffeinated using the Swiss Water® Process which is a chemical-free, innovative process using pure water to gently remove caffeine until 99.9% of it is gone and only clean flavors remain.
