Learn the different methods for making coffee and the variables that influence its production and that affect its quality. The Brewing module offers practical training on grinding profiles, preparation methods, and the measurement of coffee intensity as well as the graphical representation of its extraction. Students learn and use a variety of different methods and manage to understand the correlation between these variables and cup quality. The module is an intensive and practical program.
The class will last two days, from 9am-4pm each day including snacks and refreshments. Lunch will be provided. Upon completion of the course work, students will have 21 days to take the SCA Brewing Foundation written exam online. After passing the exam, students will earn 5 points towards the SCA Coffee Skills Diploma. This course may be taken in presence
