Using the CM-100+ is simple:
- Fill the tray with whole beans or ground coffee.
- Using the metal ruler, ensure the coffee is evenly spread and as level as possible.
- Once the CM-100+ has warmed up, select your application (ground or whole bean) and place CM-100+ over the coffee.
- Then press enter. You can rotate the device at 90 degrees to check the average of measurements.
Troubleshooting:
The CM-100+ measures the roast by both color and the distance between the light sensor and the surface of the beans. If you are experiencing inconsistent readings on the CM-100+ even after calibration, ensure that the beans are spread evenly in the dish. The beans must be at a consistent height and width within the dish and must not exceed the height of the dish. We suggest using a ruler (as shown above) to evenly spread whole beans and ground beans to achieve a correct reading.
