An intensive 3-day course that immerses you in a series of practical training exercises suitable for those who work in the specialty coffee industry or are seriously considering becoming a barista. Students with a solid knowledge of basic skills learn to work efficiently behind the bar, to do latte art, to keep the equipment in proper condition and to master customer service skills.
Successful candidates should be able to create and prepare a recipe, prepare a wide range of drinks with quality and speed, as well as understand the basic requirements for high-level customer service and equipment maintenance.
On the third day, and upon completion of the course work, students will take the SCA Barista Skills Intermediate practical exam. They must then complete a written exam alone online. By completing the course work and passing the exams, students earn 10 points towards the SCA Coffee Skills Diploma.
