Learn the different methods for making coffee and the variables that influence its production and that affect its quality. The Brewing module offers practical training on grinding profiles, preparation methods, and the measurement of coffee intensity as well as the graphical representation of its extraction. Students learn and use a variety of different methods and manage to understand the correlation between these variables and cup quality. The module is an intensive and practical program.
The course lasts two days and is scheduled from 9:00-3:00 each day. Upon completion of the course work, students will take the SCA Brewing Foundation written exam alone online. After passing the exam, they will earn 5 points towards the SCA Coffee Skills Diploma. This course may be taken in presence or in an Online LIVE format.
Once you have booked and your payment is confirmed, we will begin the process of preparing your class. Although we understand that there are situations beyond our control that may require you to reschedule or cancel your reservation, our refund and rescheduling policy reflects the costs incurred in preparing the scheduled class.
Refund Policy: Training fees are fully refundable if training is canceled at least 14 days prior to the start of the course. No cancellation is available with less than 2 business days notice, however you can reschedule with the corresponding rescheduling fees.
Rescheduling Fees: No fee is applied if rescheduling is requested at least 14 days before the start of the course. A rescheduling fee of US $ 150 will apply if rescheduling is requested less than 14 days prior to the start of the course.
