SCA Roasting Intermediate

SCA Roasting Intermediate is the perfect way to take your coffee roasting to the next level. Achieve optimal benchmark profiles in an efficient and accurate manner. You will monitor, evaluate, and refine your craft with precision.

Take your coffee roasting skills to the next level. We immerse you in a series of practical training exercises. Among other things, this is what you will learn:

• Identify and prevent roasting defects;
• Visual and chemical changes of the coffee beans during the roasting process;
• Planning and execution of optimized roasting profiles;
• Implementation of protocols for consistency and for continuous quality improvement;
• Application of efficient workspace design and workflow management.

This is a 3-day course from  9am-5pm each day including snacks and refreshments. Coffea School provides lunch. Upon completion of the course work students will take the SCA Roasting Intermediate practical exam students will have 21 days to take the SCA Roasting Foundation written exam online. After passing the exam, students will earn 5 points towards the SCA Coffee Skills Diploma.  . They must then complete a written exam online. By completing the course work and passing the exams, students earn 10 points towards the SCA Coffee Skills Diploma.

Once you have booked and your payment is confirmed, we will begin the process of preparing your class. Although we understand that there are situations beyond our control that may require you to reschedule or cancel your reservation, our refund and rescheduling policy reflects the costs incurred in preparing the scheduled class.

Refund Policy: Training fees are fully refundable (less a 3.5% payment processing fee) if training is canceled at least 14 days prior to the start of the course. No cancellation is available with less than 2 business days notice, however you can reschedule with the corresponding rescheduling fees.

Rescheduling Fees: No fee is applied if rescheduling is requested at least 14 days before the start of the course. A rescheduling fee of US $150 will apply if rescheduling is requested less than 14 days prior to the start of the course.
